The Alexandria Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the City of Alexandria, will gather business and community leaders together to discuss the state of business in Alexandria and how the community can unleash the future economic power of Alexandria’s business sector. The 1st Annual Alexandria Business Competitiveness Summit 2014 will address current challenges facing both business and government leaders. The Summit will discuss how these groups, along with the broader Alexandria community, can come together to ensure Alexandria remains competitive in attracting and retaining business.

Unique to this Summit will be a special Business Resolution Center that will bring together various City of Alexandria departments in one location to address any ongoing issues or concerns of Alexandria’s business community. If an Alexandria business owner has a question or concern they would like to raise with the city, representatives from a variety of city departments will be available to address those issues on site and to schedule future meetings to resolve any matters raised. For example, questions on planning and zoning issues, permitting, licenses, taxes, code administration, transportation, etc. may be raised at the Business Resolution Center and immediate action will be taken to resolve the matter in question.

This will be a great opportunity for business owners to not only discuss current challenges but also address any changes they are considering in the future.

City Departments Represented:

  • Planning & Zoning
  • Transportation & Environmental Studies (T&ES)
