Alexandria Turkey Trot
Thanksgiving Morning at 9am

A Thanksgiving morning tradition, the Alexandria Turkey Trot is the Mid-Atlantic's premiere Turkey Trot. With nearly 6,000 runners, and some of the fastest elite runners on the east coast, the Turkey Trot is a great way to start your Thanksgiving morning. As always dogs and strollers are welcome and allotted their own starting area.

The 5-mile run/walk follows the roads of Del Ray starting and ending at George Washington Middle School at the corner of Braddock Road and Mount Vernon Avenue. The event is Metro accessible to the Braddock Road Metro Station.

Dog and Stroller Races: Dogs and Strollers will begin in their own start corral on the north side of GW Middle School. Additionally children MUST remain in their strollers during the entire race (including the finish) and dogs must be on straight leashes shorter than two feet.

Food Donation: Please bring two nonperishable food items (cans, boxes) on race day to support ALIVE!, a nonprofit organization serving Alexandria’s needy. You may also make an optional cash donation when you register.

With new shops and restaurants opening in the Del Ray area all the time, no time is better to scope out "Where Main Street Still Exists" than from a jog down Mount Vernon Avenue on closed Roads.

Be sure to checkout all of this year's sponsors and please continue to support the Del Ray community!
